Lip enhancement FAQs

You will have a face to face consultation with one of our doctors, if you are happy to proceed with treatment on the day then numbing cream will be applied and your doctor will inject small quantities of lip filler into the border or body of your lip(s) depending on the desired effect. The appointment slot including numbing and treatment is approximately 30 minutes, and results are instant.

Lip filler can add definition to the borders of your lips, and the shape / size of your lips can be enhanced either subtly or dramatically according to your preferences. Our non-surgical lip enhancement procedure is also ideal for reducing lines and creases around the mouth area (including ‘smoker’s lines’).

The process may be somewhat uncomfortable, topical local anaesthetic will be applied to reduce pain and we also use a dermal filler which contains a built-in anaesthetic for your comfort.

Lip filler can take up to two weeks to fully settle due to the effects of swelling, if you’re unhappy with your results after this time, make a follow-up appointment with your doctor.

Swelling and bruising are common side effects of lip filler, but such complaints are very temporary and should subside in the days following the treatment. In severe cases swelling can last 10 -14 days. Full risks will be discussed on the day of treatment and include vascular occlusion (which is rare).

Lip fillers are not suitable for anyone with severe allergies. You should not have dermal fillers of any kind if you are pregnant or breastfeeding – we do not treat clients who are under 18 years. This procedure will only be performed after a face-to-face consultation with one of our doctors, during which a full assessment will be carried out and a full list of cautions and contraindications discussed.
