Tear trough filler

Struggling with dark circles or under-eye hollowness?

Tear trough filler offers an effective solution for reducing the appearance of under-eye shadows and bags. By using high-quality dermal filler specifically designed for this delicate area, we can help restore lost volume, smooth hollows, and create a brighter, more refreshed look.

Please note that individual results will vary, and while we aim to achieve the best possible outcome, specific results cannot be guaranteed as they depend on factors unique to each client.

What is Tear Trough filler

Our tear trough treatment is a popular choice for filling the hollows beneath the eyes to reduce dark circles, soften the appearance of eye bags and improve crepey skin. If you struggle with sunken eyes or ongoing under-eye wrinkles, this treatment can help you achieve a fresher and less tired appearance.

Under-eye filler is a quick procedure with very little recovery time and results that can be seen straight away. The effects usually last between nine and twelve months.

At Skin Architect, your safety is our main priority. Your under-eye filler will always be carried out by a highly experienced cosmetic doctor who understands the delicate nature of the area. We use a premium, licensed dermal filler with a well-established safety profile for treating tear troughs, and the procedure is performed with a cannula rather than a needle. This approach helps to reduce risk and also lowers the chance of bruising or swelling.

FAQs for dermal fillers at Skin Architect

You will book an appointment with one of our cosmetic doctors.

• On the day of your consultation your doctor will explain the tear trough treatment and advise if you are suitable.

• If you wish to go ahead on the same day for under eye filler it is possible. Your doctor will obtain your consent and take a pre-treatment photograph of you (which is strictly private and for medico-legal purposes only).

• The dermal filler will be administered using a cannula which is a quick and relatively painless experience – using a cannula minimises your risks as it reduces the possibility of filler being injected into a blood vessel and will also reduce your risk of bruising. The doctor will then massage the area for a smooth result.

• You are fully awake during the procedure and will be able to hold a mirror to control of the procedure’s results by advising the doctor when you feel you are happy with the outcome. This is possible as the results of the tear trough filler are immediate so you will be able to see a difference in your under eyes immediately.

• You may have some swelling and your final result will be visible in 2 weeks time when any swelling has gone.

• Your doctor will explain aftercare and you will be able to continue with the rest of your day.

You may have some mild swelling however it will not be as much as what you would get with filler in other areas of the face such as lips and most clients return to their normal, daily activities right after their visit. There is always the risk of some slight swelling or bruising with dermal fillers, but these post treatment effects if experienced, will only last for a few days and a maximum of 2 weeks.

Tear trough filler can help disguise mild under-eye bags when they are accompanied by hollowness that makes them appear more pronounced. However, if the under-eye area is puffy or swollen, filler alone may not be the most suitable option. In some cases, a combination approach may be recommended, where the puffiness is first addressed through alternative non-surgical methods before considering tear trough filler to refine and brighten the area.

Typically 9 – 12 months. Most clients have their tear trough treatment once per year.

Tear trough filler is an advanced treatment and should only be carried out by a doctor who is highly experienced in this specific procedure. It is important that the treatment takes place in an appropriate medical setting, using suitable filler and the correct delivery technique. At Skin Architect, we prioritise your safety in the following ways:

  1. You will be treated by an experienced cosmetic doctor who specialises in tear trough filler, ensuring the highest standard of care and the best possible outcome.

  2. We use high-quality dermal fillers that are appropriate for the delicate under-eye area and have a well-established safety profile.

  3. The procedure is performed using a cannula rather than a needle, which helps to reduce risk and lowers the likelihood of bruising or swelling.

  4. All treatments take place in a safe clinical environment that meets strict medical standards.

Yes, at Skin Architect Clinic we use only dissolvable fillers which means in the unlikely event that you do not like the result or something was to go wrong, we would be able to inject a solution (providing you were not allergic to that solution) to completely remove the tear trough filler and return you to your baseline.

Yes it is very common to have cheek filler with tear trough treatment as they tend to compliment each other well. Your doctor will be able to perform both on the same day or on another date depending on your preference. It is also possible to have anti-wrinkle injections or filler elsewhere on face at same appointment.

At Skin Architect, we use a specialist dermal filler formulated specifically for the under-eye area. In our experience, this type of filler provides the most reliable and natural-looking results for treating tear troughs. It is a lightweight hyaluronic acid filler that is designed for the delicate tissue beneath the eyes, helping to minimise the risk of bruising. It also attracts minimal water, which reduces the likelihood of swelling compared with standard fillers.
